About this service

A stump left behind after a tree comes down gets in the way of mowing, trips people up and makes a corner of the yard hard to use. Stump grinding takes the stump down below grade, so the area can be levelled, seeded or planted the way you like.

What it involves

  • Looking at the stump size, location and what is close to it
  • Grinding the stump down below the surface of the ground
  • Dealing with the chips the way you prefer: left as mulch, spread, or removed
  • Talking through what you would like to do with the area afterwards

Example scope

  • A single stump in an open lawn
  • Several stumps after tree removal or storm cleanup
  • Stumps near paths, gardens or driveways
  • Preparing an area for new grass or a garden bed

Suited to

  • Owners who have had trees taken down
  • Anyone tired of mowing around obstacles
  • Properties being refreshed before a sale or new season

Season & site notes

  • Ground conditions matter: very wet or frozen ground affects access.
  • Late spring and fall are good times to reseed the area afterwards.
  • Nearby rock, roots, buried lines or septic components need to be considered.

How it works

  1. Email the details: a few lines about the property, the work and your timing. Photos help.
  2. Talk it through: we follow up to ask questions and understand what you need.
  3. See the site where useful, then agree the scope and timing before work begins.
